The Sherwin-Williams Company
On a Friday afternoon we visited The Sherwin-Williams Company. This company is established in Lelystad and Theo Wemmers has been the managing director for many years. The Sherwin-Williams Company is one of the big players in the field of varnishes and paints. It currently employs over 220 members of staff and, as it continues to be hard to find properly trained staff, Valspar has its own training centre in a building adjacent to its head-office.
Two and a half years ago the original company Valspar was acquired by The Sherwin-Williams Company and as a result, the control has changed course. The past year has been good and the new year has started well, according to Theo Wemmers. The company recently bought additional land for a new building which will be used to hold additional stock.
The purpose of our meeting was, among other things, the preparation of a visit to Inditex. Inditex is one of the world’s largest fashion retailers, with whom we came into contact at the end of 2019. More about our visit to Inditex will follow.
